I know a few list members went to the GenConUK last year. My gaming groups
thinking of going and I wondered if someone who went last year could give an
opinion about the setup. What was there, how was it, was the whole thing any
good?

It was pretty good, though don't expect it to be even close to the US
GenCon (if you've ever been there). Plenty of gaming, though no SR despite
attempts by yours truly to get a game going beyond the two I ran for
friends (this year, there should be some SR games, I was told by someone
who looked into it more than I have so far :)

The setup of the trade hall was pretty poor, but as it's going to be held
at a different venue this year (Olympia in London rather than a university
in Manchester) I can't say much about how that'll be done this year. The
actual trade was okay, plenty of stores and some UK publishers selling all
kinds of gaming necessities.

Everything put together, IMHO it's a good con to go to on this side of the
Atlantic.
