inspiration for your handle or if it's your own creation.

On a side note, I'm amazed at the number of people who have either changed
their handle or went from a handle to their real names (*Strago says in a
Kermit the Frog voice "hi Doc' I see you!"*). I'm also impressed by the
number of new listmembers who ARE using handles, especially those which I
notice the source from.

I use my handle so folks will know that they're not listening to my husband
Dan (the source of our email tag).

I used to have a handle... Aknot... but then people kept asking me what it
meant. I ended up putting the meaning in a sig file... but then my mother
saw it in an e-mail to her, phoned me up, told me I was weird.

Coming from my mother, that's a compliment, and also very scary.

I'm not Aknot. Shane is weird enough

Shane

PS not that I post that often. I generally don't have much to say, and when
I do, it's weird poo, and nobody replies [sniff].

I've always been Doc' on here, but my real name's

I've used handles in the past, but after seeing a few chat rooms where
everyone has audacious names like "Immortal Vampire King" and "Busty 6 foot
Redhead Lesbian With Green Eyes" (read: Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons in
'disguise') I decided to use my real name if only to stand out from the
crowd. I don't go near those chat rooms any more, and most people here have
perfectly reasonable handles, but I still like the idea of just being me.

Everybody keeps asking me that. I think the first book might have been out
then, but it's the name of my favorite and longest running (and probably
most over-powered) Shadowrun character, and even before that, a pseudonym
that I used when submitting writings and ramblings of mine to magazines and
school projects. Plus what guy can deny love the nickname of BJ? ;)

Sometime's I'm right, other's I'm wrong, but Boondocker, well, that's a
handle I can't identify (unless it means that Boondocker lives in the
Boondocks, but that'd be just silly)
As for everyone else, well, I'll just post when I recognize the handle of
someone.

I'd still be using the handle of Graht if I could, but if I change my
emailers from setting to "Graht" it's going to confuse the heck out of my
co-workers :)

Once I get settled into the new house and have a solid at home internet
connection again, I'll switch back to Graht.

I have four different signature files for on Eudora. I can decide which
one to use before sending an email (and the default is set to none just in
case I forget).

I can't do that as easily with the Real Name setting :)

What are you ywofaced or something?

I got my nick from a friend I use to play computer RISK with. He usta say
it was lame to put your own name in, so sence I wouldn't pick a handle he
put in Eggbert. I kicked his but in every game sence, ergo why I am Czar

No, many of us did meet him at GenCon '98, so it doesn't raise any
eyebrows. Although the guy behind the counter at a Laser Tag game didn't
let him use it because "that's basically 'shithead,' right?"
