/ Live Role Playing to people.
Here's a fun little story. Drove from Denver Colorado the Norman
Kansas to play in a LARP game. On the way back I was pulled over by
the police. I had been drafting the a friend's car in front of me
(to save gas, and it was fun at the time) when he (the friend) saw
the cop. He slammed on his breaks and slowed down to the speed
limit. I avoided hitting him. I didn't see the cop. I started
drafting him again. The cop knew we had been speeding but he hadn't
been able to clock our speed. Also, earlier that day some people had
tried to run drugs through Kansas and some people had died in a shoot
out. The cop was not in a good mood. Lucky for him I was
tailgating.
So I'm sitting in his car as he's writing the ticket and he asks me
what I'm doing in Kansas. He's already searched our cooler for
alcohol and asked me all the drug questions. Then I proceed to try
to explain what the heck a live action roleplaying game is. I
thought for sure I was going to be spending the night in a Kansas
jail.
