No offense, but IMO ... NO ... the reason is quite simple. This list keeps
the Admin/GridSec people (such as yourself there Dave ;-) more than busy
enough for a volunteer-basis thing. Purely OT lists have a tendency of
degenerating into areas of conversation that are NOT IMO good for anything or
anyone. And although I like the RN List most of the time because of the
centrally oriented backtheme (Shadowrun), I tend to zone off from it whenever
the information degenerates or becomes to narrowly focused on a single topic
for too long, and I'm fairly certain I'm not alone on the subject (having had
personal emails from a number of list regulars and lurkers that agree with me
on this one).

Bursts of OTness can be healthy, sure ... it's a kind of burnout prevention.
But consistent OTness can become even more unhealthy IMO than burnout itself.

Good points all :) Yep, there doesn't seem to be a way to split up the list.

Anyway, everyone would just post twice as many times, because there are more
list topics on two lists. Oh yes, I am a pessimist, but at least I am always
either right or pleasantly surprised.

Well, you could do it by topic, or discussion type. Some big catagories
of discussion (besides OT) might be:
-Rules (rules questions and varients)
-Source Material (game world setting info)
-Play (meta game topics, like dealing with interpersonal issues)
-Other (all that real world related discuccion thats not really OT, but not
just gaming)

Hmm, in other words, there doesn't seem to be any way to spilt up the list.
