(Forwarding a tip from Steve Levine, my favorite
expert in lockpicking, kayaking, mountain
climbing, supercomputers, galaxy formation, and
Mexican academia)
The best way to get "improvised" picks, is to wait
for a street-sweeper truck to go by, and pick up
a few of the bristles that always fall off. You
need at least 2: one that you put a 90 degree
bend in right near the tip, and one straight one.
The straight one can be further improved with a
bench grinder, but I forget exactly how.
