Hello there,

I am Wilson Reis, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I am not sure if you guys do remember me (and my poor english), but i was
part of the ShadowRN and NERPS lists around 97-98 .
Now, after regrouping some of my old game friends, i am back to the hobbie.
Unfortunatly, i am less than up to date with SR material. About the NERPS, i
thinki i still have (somewhere in my old HD) some Megs of information on
what was meant to be an Amazonia article for the NERPS.

So, that email was just to introduce myself. I hope the list is still as fun
as it was at that time !

Greetings
Will

Salve, compatriota!

I strongly recommend you get a copy of the Third Edition of
Shadowrun, at the very least. I think you should still be able to order
one from Devir :), but if that's not possible the fine people in this
list can point you to plenty of online stores that carry the most recent
SR books.

As for the net-zines, NERPS is no more, as far as I know, but
I'd recommend you take a look at The Shadowrun Supplemental
(http://tss.dumpshock.com). They accept submissions :).

Welcome back, Will!

The list is not exactly the same as it was "back then". You'll notice the
traffic is, like, 80 messages a day less than back in those days, for
starters ;-). Also, the list isn't quite as, er, insular, as it might have
been. Which, while good, erodes the sense of community that existed "back in
the good old days".

You might want to take a squiz at the Dumpshock forums, too. Much of the
traffic that would have been on ShadowRN has now passed to the forums. OTOH,
since the forums are easier to access, and have a lesser motivation to
actually look at everything, there is no sense of community, and you'd
better don your flame proof suit before venturing over there ;-).

According to Will, on Mon, 07 Jan 2002 the word on the street was...

Your name does look familiar, but if you hadn't mentioned the NERPS list I
wouldn't have been able to place you...

You'll be disappointed there... :/

Well, at least with the low traffic i will be able to read all the
messages.

I remember the trouble it was to deal with it.
Right now I will browse thru the forums for awhile and just lurk here.
