You were looking for a new tradition, right? That,unfortunately,is
like saying "I'm a samurai, and I need all unique cyberware"- tomuch
work, and a loose cannon game balance wise. Or not...
What is fun is to take a "normal" type,butinfrequently played, and
twistit inot something useful and unexpected.
I played an elemental AIR adept with about 20 detection spells (force
1, exclusive and expendable- munchi, i know, but how often do you really
need a lot ofthem, like diagnose). About 3 turned out to be scene
makers (like dignose above, used on a contact who was concealing the
fact he was a windago- damn near got me killed, though).
Aditionally, he was a TROLL. Sounds febel, till youconsiderI had a
reach 2 wepon focus a,d got mynatural reach as well. He was the astral
brute squad.
And he had Mindlink(self) at a high force, which he split cast at the
whole party, had an elemntal sustain it for days, and sudenly we were
all telepathic, even in a-space. He also had several geasa relating to
his jewish background and flaws that made it look like he might actully
be an air elemntal.
Not a new tradition, but a very unique character. Now he's workin on
getting conjouring, specialized for watchers, up to 10+ and building a
watche focus- thenhe'll whip up a crew of force 5+ watchers, mindlike to
them, and have astral drones.
An area I see vastly under used is "friendly" ritual sorcery. Doing
it on yourself and party members lets you do funny things with target
numbers (ritual heal the samurai- the TN is 6!) and self-sustaining
spells (hours x magic rating per die spent). Such use requires no
links, just time and money....
