No, I mean that as far as most of the world is concerned, Canada is part of
the US.

Now I'm with you... Didn't the yanks invade Canada some time back?

There's been much burning of architecture on both sides of the border,
mostly (all?) in the war of 1812. We learned all this in school and
promptly forgot it... I'd be hard pressed to volunteer any info about our
history. Americans would be hard pressed to volunteer any info about our
present :)

And watch your "Canada as 51st State" comments. That's not supposed to
be common knowledge yet, the summit's only just ended... :P

"In America, there are 51 states. Or maybe it's 80 by now. Does England
count?"

hee hee :)

Getting back to the whole Bob thing, we used that in our games, too--
despite the fact that we had a player named Bob. It's pretty widespread.
If anyone remembers the FPS game Marathon, all of the anonymous human
characters were called BOBs. Stood for something, but I'm too lazy to
check...

It's not? I thought it was that state that was almost as big as Texas ...

One of my friends referred to Canada as the US's younger brother (maybe he
stole that from a comedian), you know
Canada: "whatcha doin' over there, eh?"
US: "We're going to war!"
Canada: "Can I come?"

As for the Bruce thing, maybe it's a reference to that old Monty Python skit
where they were all Australian philosophy professors named Bruce.

Nah, you got it all wrong, being french is quite enjoyable. I mean, how can
you feel bad when utter contempt for the rest of the world is your way of
life ? ;-)

Fair point there then. That'll explain the Frogs blowing up our ship and
nuking an atoll in someone else's back yard.

Bitter? Not by a long shot. =)
