Anger is an emotion. You've seen it. You've felt it. Windows causes it.

;-)

How about those wicked cross-platform PDFs, eh?

Oh yeah. I just installed Windows XP Professional over a Windows NT
install. And for the life of me I could not find a way to do an erase
install. I wanted to erase the NT partition and install onto it. But
the machine would not let me destroy the partition since XP installed
some silly files there for booting. And don't get me on the fact that
I could not join partitions, etc. It drove me batty.

In such cases, Knoppix is your friend. Boot into it, run fdisk to
erase all the partitions, then build a ReiserFS partition and install
L- I mean, reboot into the WinXP install program, format the drive as
NTFS and reinstall.
If brute force doesn't work, then you're not using enough of it.

Seconded.
