Our guess is it was probably a computer that had been sent back for repairs
at some point in time, it wasn't reprogrammed properly after customer
stupidity (and NO, I do NOT believe a customer is always right) returned
because they didn't know what to do with it.

PackBell's people just didn't do their job thoroughly either. We heard this
wasn't the only incident after we (Sight & Sound / Warehouse) did some
digging. And yeah, we had heard that Compaq had been caught in similar
circumstances.
