Ok...

Well... The season priemere was a 2 hour episode featuring the Finale from
last season and the second part which was the premiere. A Female Borg is
assigned to work with Voyager to develope Nanoprobes capable of destroying
the aliens that were thrashing the borg. The aliens had an immune system
that enabled them to destroy the Borg nano-thingies taht assimilated stuff,
so the Borg were unable to deal with them, because without assimilation,
the Borg can't learn.

Anyways, they nuke a couple dozen of teh alien ships, and they go home, but
only after they destroyed a LOT of borg and borg planets. At one point
they just non-chalantly say that 8 Borg Planets, 32 Cubes, and 8 Million+
Borg have been destroyed. Yeah! :]

Well, the female Borg, in the end, makes an attempt to take over voyager
and "assimilate" it, but the crew manages to sever the Borg's link to the
Borg Collective.

Guess what?

Voyager now has a new crew member... PLus, according to the "preview" for
next weeks episode, someone else is leaving the crew... So that could be
interesting...:]

Now, I know neither of these lists is for ST (I'm not even all that fond of
ST), but this was just pretty damned cool and I wanted to share this info...;]

Take it easy...

It's either Kess of Harry that is leaving.

Harry is a drunk IRL, and Kess is useless, according to Brannon Braga

I hear its Kess. I'd really love to see Neelix go though. He
really doesn't have any point of being on the ship. Kind of hope Kess
isn't.

Justin Bell says:
<< It's either Kess of Harry that is leaving.>>

I'd have to agree. My guess was Kess, primarily because I don't remember
seeing her name in the credits, while I did see Garrett Wang (Harry) listed.
Plus, they could have simply let Harry die from the virus of Species 8742
(??). Much easier than this "Oh, btw, I'm leaving ya'll after all this crap
we've been through together." Didn't they try that with Tom last season, but
it was a ploy to draw the bad guys out?

I'm sure it's not Tom, because of all the characters, his has had the
greatest amount of growth. Plus, Tom and Belana seem to be getting better.
Personally, I'd like to see Neelix go. I just don't like the guy(the
character, not the actor).

BTW, are you serious about Garrett Wang being an alcoholic? Damn. I kinda
like Harry, too. How'd you find out about this? Please tell, in private if
necessary.

All in all, I did like the season premiere, though I thought it was a bit
simple. They could have easily extended it to a third episode and kept up the
level of suspense. That is my only real problem with Voyager. They always
seem to do something similar to the BIG problems. Too easy.

Now DS9's season premiere should be AWESOME! That finale was too damned cool!
Can't wait.

It's going to be Kess...call it a hunch. She's only got another year or two
to live anyhow.

Since the Actress who plays kess has been causing a lot of problems, I have
the feeling that she is going.

I loved the episode, myself. Expecially the part with the nasty ass
aliens from the matter plane. (That's the astral plane...yeah<g>)

I thought it sucked how they just kind of blew off the borg and
8472 or whatever. "Oh, we're humans, we're spiffy, so we're going
to kill you." Even thought the Borg had assimilated damn near
everyone in their realm and the bad-ass 8472 were cooler. ;)

While I, too, enjoy Star Trek, I must say that this is a Shadowrun Mailing
List. This list is NOT for discussing the weather, our favorite shows, or
the music we listen to - it's here to discuss Shadowrun.

There are plenty of other mailing lists and newsgroups out there you can
join if you feel the desire to express yourself on those issues.

Some people pay by the message for their e-mail accounts, and don't really
need to fork over money for something they don't have any interest in
discussing. I, for one, subscribed to this mailing list to discuss
Shadowrun. However, on several occasions, the off topic posts have
equalled or outnumbered the on topic posts. That's just plain pitiful.

Take it to a chat room if you must, but please don't clutter my e-mail box
with all this off topic stuff. It's just like being spammed by an e-mail
solicitation. And as we all know, that's downright annoying.

Thanks,

Justin

If you were watching the opening credits, you would have noticed
Jennifer Lien's (Kes) name missing and some one new (I forgot) listed
as "7 of 9". Jennifer was listed as "Also Starring" immediately after
the first commercial break, however. I hate when they do this since
it tends to give things away before the show has even started.

I also heard about it about two months ago so I kinda saw it coming.
Claudia Christian from B5 is also leaving as of the beginning of
Season 5. And Mulder ain't dead-- I don't care *what* people say :)

> Now, I know neither of these lists is for ST (I'm not even all that fond of

It was a very interesting episode. Obviously, ST learned a bit from
JMS' Babylon 5 and its-- now famous-- 5 year pre planned story line.
ST has been lacking continuity ever since half way through last season
(DS9 and Voyager).

I'm surprised you didn't mention two other things about the new cast
member-- apparently visual FX isn't the only industry relying on
silicone :P

As the the next generation was ending and the movies began, Berman was
approached by Michael Okuda. Okuda wrote the comprehensive Star Trek
Encylopedia, and offered to freely be the continuity consultant. Berman
essentially told him that the fans will buy anything Star Trek does, so why
bother with it.

It would be nice to see continuity on Trek, but lets face it. Trek has never
had it to begin with. Though B5 is much better, they too have made one or two
continuity errors.

Oops! That should read "...lacking continuity up to about half way

Little things have begun to link together from episode to episode in
both DS9 and Voyager, but nothing like B5 (things that happened at the
beginning of season #3 are being revisited right now). Most of B5's
inconsistencies came about during season #1 and early season #2, when
JMS let other writers write. Some patchwork had to be done when the
actress playing Talia Winters wanted out. As it stands, JMS holds the
current record for most consecutive screenplays (all of season #3 and
all of season #4 to date).
