In fact the stone under the throne that the british monarchs get
crowned is not from Ireland but was stolen from the Scots in the
1100's i think by Edward Longshanks. Thats the edward that was
portrayed in Braveheart by Patrick Mcgoohan(sp?). I have no idea
what happened to the irsh stone but we( the scots) did steal the
stone back in the 1960's ( they did recover it) and that has lead to
the continuing urban myth if you will that the stone now residing in
westminster abbey is not the real one but one the thieves
manufactured and the real one is hidden somewhere in Scotland.
To bring this back onto a shadowrunesque line this could be a
basis for a grand Adventure especially if you use tie-ins with
Earthdawn as you could use the stone as a major pattern Item for
the whole of scotland and thus would be a powerful artifact if you
could just get it to work.
