If you haven't seen it yet, definitely catch the new animated
series, Batman Beyond. I've only seen 45 minutes of it so far, and it
TOTALLY ROCKS [and as people who know me will attest, the highest
compliment I usually give something is fine.]!
It harkens back to the original 1st year of Batman The Animated
Series, but to a cyberpunk beat.
Enough said. Just watch it!

Hey Vic, can you tell us (privately if need be) a bit more about it. Mike B.
saw something on it in the paper, but we skipped it to work on the html stuff
for HHH. Clues, better hints? Are they goig to re-air it anytime soon?

Check the Saturday morning lineup next week ... it should be there (on
the WB). Over here, next Saturday's lineup starts at 7 with the New
Batman/Superman Adventures, Men in Black, One hour of Batman Beyond, and
the premiere of the Great(?) Cartoonie Show (Do I want to know?). The
setting reminds me more of Superman than Batman (the two animated
series). This was a sneak preview, so this will probably be the first
episode they show. Since the chedule lists Batman Beyond as one hour, I
think I'm right. :)

Spoiler for Batman Beyand

The story looks to me like a rehash of the original Batman story (Kid's
parent is killed, kid becomes vigilante to get justice, early in career
while pursuing a villian creates an archnemesis [reminds me a LOT of the
Joker's creation in the first Batman movie.].). This time, the batsuit
has lots of toys (strength enhancement, flight, enhanced hearing, etc)
which is probably why it has a strong Superman feel to it. I personally
think they made the ears too big, and the mouth on the cowl looks goofy,
but I like the new batarangs. :)

It's kindof interesting that this is obviously further
forward in time than the current Batman (even ignoring the older Wayne)
despite the fact that it is never really known when that is set. I still
love the whole "future 50's" look.
