This really should be a FAQ by now...
Vegemite is made by taking the leavings of beer brewing and processing them
(basically dehydrating it). The result is put into jars with yellow labels
and sold off. There are a few different brands of this sort of thing, of
which Vegemite is the most famous.
However, the leavings of beer brewing is basically dead yeast and what yeast
produces after eating the sugar and drinking the water, with the good part
(the alcohol) removed. Why anyone wants to eat dead yeast and yeast feaces
is beyond me.
