Hello there, This is my first posting so here goes.

I was looking through my stuff of Out of Print Mags and came across
some spells.
The spell Lighting Bolt page 40 of KaGe Iss. 12, Vol 1.
1) Does any have any other spell about Lighting or Weather?
I am trying to create a Shaman Who does only weather and Storm
Type spells.

2) I am also trying to find early Issues of KaGe. If you have any of them
I would be interested in buying them from you.

Thanks

End of line.....

My suggestion to you is to subscribe to Shadowland magazine. They have
lots of new spells all the time and some nice runs and fiction. :)
Also, you could take pretty much any elemental spell and change it over
to being a lightning spell.

For example, you could turn a flame bolt into a lightning bolt spell
just by changing the elemental effect...the stats would all stay the
same.

Sorry, but I can't help you with that.

I had one called Chain Lightning (not the one from Awakenings).
Basically it was a modified flame bomb with Electricity elemental
effects instead of Fire.

At Force 8, it did lots of nasty things to the bad guys... and the bad
guys' electrical wirings... :)

A bit too much fiction for my taste... Every time it seems like half the
magazine is filled with stories instead of things you can use over and
over again.

Really? I find the fiction not bad (I've seen a lot of worse quality). And
I get tired of forty billion different guns. If they had Misc.
Equipment....I'd love that.

I still think my fav's Were the Hypo-doc and Welding torches from KaGe.

The fiction's okay, but I read it once and that's it. Things like optional
rules, equipment, and things like that can be used over and over again.
That goes for adventures to a limited degree as well, but not the
fiction.

Write some and send it in. AFAIK Shadowland only publishes articles that
gets sent to it (plus the occasional preview of a new FASA book), so if
you send in an article with non-weapon equipment (and it gets through
FASAMike's approval), there'll be Misc. Equipment in it...

True....I think the best thing so far were the rules on shapechanger duels.

1) Anything I send in and they accept becomes their property....since I'm
pushing for submissions to my web page, I'd rather put it there. Besides, I
already know all the stuff _I_ can think up....my sorry imagination is
looking for a boost from other people.

2) Does FASAMike really approve the stuff? I though SOK approved it on
their own...

(Opinion only, I have no real clue)

This, BTW, was also what bugged me about Virtual Realities. Good to see
FASA didn't fall into that same trap again.

If you think that way, nothing you write will ever get published
anywhere...

Watch TV shows and movies, read books, look at things in the street/
stores/catalogs/supplements for other games/etc. and see if any of that
sparks an idea...

AFAIK he does -- something I wrote (the suburban brawl thing, for those
who've been around for some time) got turned down because Mike thought it
was too far removed from what's possible in SR.

When I can publish things to my content now? Once my site gets large enough
that I don't feel like an imposter, I won't worry, but right now...

I do! But face it, if we all wanted to rely on our imaginations alone, we
wouldn't have bought Shadowrun, or be talking with other
people....Communication breeds ideas.

But do you get any money for it? :)

I'm not saying you should rely on nothing but your own imagination.
However, adding something you created yourself is more satisfying than
only using stuff others thought up.

I've been meaning to re-write it into an adventure or something for about
a year now, but nothing has happened yet...

Thanks.

Right. I'm saying I use A lot of my own stuff...I'd just like to see things
from other people as well.

I listed a few glass cutters on my page (penci style, compass style, and
microsaw) and someone told me they thought they were way too weak....he said
by 2057 we'll know all about getting through glass easily.

I disagree. Unless this guy wants a welding torch or a MP III, I say that
the industry has been satisfied with it's ability to get through glass, and
thus little growth. What do all of you say?

-=SwiftOne=-
(BTW, I'll get some welding torchs up soon.:))

To be quite honest, no offense intended; we thought the glass cutters
were too powerful - like the minisaw having that much power? We toned
them *down* quite substantially.

No offense...I'm getting a balance of opinions. You really thought the
microsaw was too powerful? Why? It can cut through bulletproof glass, but
that's not unreasonable....it's based on how such material works. Plus,
your cutting is slow, and the power pack won't last long enough to cut a
huge whole.

That statement sounds reasonable. Only think of screwdrivers: There are
grat electric things, but the old-fashioned screwdriver is still very
common. Why? Because it's just what you need, quite failsafe, cheap,
and everyone knows how to use it. So why buy or develop something new?
