Hey Bull, Adam J, and Paolo

What's the story with the Archive going down? You can't just leave us
hanging like this with no explanation?

Are y'all planning way cool new stuff ( I hope so)

Regards

I knew this would happen, I told Paolo he should make a post on RN
about the Archive going down. But don't worry, it will be back eventually
at a new URL with all new cool stuff. Just a few weeks without it shouldn't
kill most of us.

This is the official explanation -- feel free to quote me on this.

The Shadowrun Archive is going through a period of growth and expansion
that makes in necessary to relocate to a different server. We hope to have
it online by sometime in September, and the new server will also include
other popular Shadowrun sites, which we'll keep under wraps for a bit.

>Are y'all planning way cool new stuff ( I hope so)

Damn Straight. The interface will be cleaner, the server more robust,
there will be more features and sites available, it will be easier to
submit and edit previously submitted items, the categories will be more
logical, and did I mention the server would be faster?

BTW, if you want to submit suggestions and ideas for the new Archive,
please send them to fro@***.ab.ca, and I'll forward them to the other site
developers.

BUT BUT BUT!! I just got my 10base-T connection to from the campus dual
T-1 lines set up and i wanted to download all that cool stuff i never
could stay on long enough for when i had to use the 14.4 modem. *sulk*
:):) I guess its for the best. With classes and a 30 hour a week job
getting the Campus Dorn Computer network going i guess i shouldnt be
downloading and reading the entire Archive.

Off to go work on my first assignment for CS435, Partition your HD and
install NetBSD successfully. Just a small little assignment Doc :P

LOL! yep! Its people like me that probably drove the old server into the
ground. Actualy i never did a chance to download anything over my "good"
connection. Do i rember correctly that the new server will be located in
Canada instead of Italy?

Hi all,

just to clarify a couple of things:

1. the server actually is a new one since a month.
2. interware is not moving.
3. the collector, otoh...
4. the new site will be a pretty interesting thing.
5. yes, I'm working on it right now <g>
