I'd like to know 2 things. One, who and how many people do we got left on
shadowrn and shadowtk. Two, are all the people who are involved with the MONICA
thing on shadowtk really in the same game/location or is it just reg shadowtk
interaction via e-mail. And as a sub to that question - how cool is it to run/
talk to people directly over the net as opposed to on the general SRtk board.
Would you guys mind cooperating/collaborating on something behind the scenes
in order to jazz up some ace shadowtk messages and happenings?

I forget who posed the question. But, with some luck, I plan on being around
this summer, if I can get into the lab... And so, I should be here. If not,
I'll letcha know.

I may as well try another post to the mailing list (my only other one
apparently failed).

I'm a reasonably permanent visitor. I'll be here even during your
summer. But I don't subscribe to shadowtk.

I'm on shadowrn. I forgot how to get myself back on shadowtk. I logged
off for finals. Stupid me. Someone tell me how?

It's really shadowtk interaction. I was (I hope this don't sound
arrogant) one of the main players, hayden was of course a MAJOR player...
Jason and lot were majorly involved as well. (I know I've missed a
lot of folk)... and as far as I know, none of us have ever
met.

ALright, I uploaded my People file (35K) to send to someone. . .anyone else
who wants data on the NegaMage, new archetypes and the unified race chart,
let me know. Unless anyone objects I'll post it to the list if more than
3 people ask for it. Deadline is next Tuesday, when I'll delete it from
my account.

OK. . .I now have over 10 requests for my people file. I am more than willing
to oblige, and in fact I already mailed it out to thelist. . .but the calls
keep coming in. Jerry?

That's right. Even though we've reached our minimum, it's heartening to
know that the people out in shadowland care about information like this
and its continued propagation. Our total so far
**
**

**
**

As you can see, the calls are well above what we asked for. So we sent out
a copy at 2 this afternoon. Maybe it hasn't gotten through yet. WE NEED TO
hear from you, our negamage/archetype/null subscribers, on if you received
it or not. Even if you're not already a member, tell us if you've seen the
post.

Have you seen this data?

Keep the calls rolling in but if you have it, keep it as a memento of our
good faith and love. Back to you, Ed.

Probably a little burnt out from discussing money, characters, responding
to personal messages, trying to write a Shadowrun campaign on the VAX,
talking to a Native Russian prof about why the rest of the class is
apparently stupid, wondering "what in god's name am I doing here on my
day off" and "where the hell are my players" and thinking that as soon as
a couple more messages are properly replied to, I will go home and go to
bed, and I'm sorry if you took offense at this incessant rambling but you
know, it's kind of relieveing. You should try it some time. Without
excessive apostrophes or discussion of Vampires or Windling Mechwarriors
or. . .never mind. And no this is not a sig I made it up as I went along,
which is what I do with most of my posts except the one with the fragging
sign that NO ONE can identify without. Maybe I'll write a cluebook for my
sig (which isn't a real sig; it's a text file that I include when I use
the editor. . .*YAWN* *STRETCH* I'll see if I can kick out another
couple of messages and then go home.

But don't worry. I'll be back. :)

I sent the NegaMage extravaganza out last week. Did some of you not receive
it? Wait a week and if you still don't have it, let me know.

the following has virtually nothing to do with ANY of the current threads..but..I'm
sending it anyway:

Ever notice how diverse gamers are? I've always been intrigued by how wide the
spectrum runs for RPG's..at the low end you have the kids in Jr. High getting together
after school to shoot stuff, and then at the other you have the "older" guys who
either
design the stuff, run conventions, or organize tournaments and everything else. You
have people from all walks of life, different continents/cultures and ages that span,
well pretty much everything.

And what do we have in common? We're all creative, imaginative and love Shadowrun [ or
what ever other inferior game you might play :) ].

It's just sorta weird...a little sub-culture.

Mind if I do an experiment? I'm interested in what comes back.

Just reply/sound off with your basic info: Name, age, sex, location, occupation/major
or general position in life. Oh and if any of you can remember, how long you've been
playing rpg's in general.

THIS IS NOT A SURVEY (well it is, but just a personal one..I'm curious)!!

thanks.

Did you ever consider also that only certain people are actually capable
of putting themselves in the frame of mind which is required to be a
roleplayer. There are many people who just cannot get into it their are
just not that flexible! What does that say about us?!

Age: 21

Location: Bath, England
Occupation: Student at the university studying Business. Final Year.
I've been roelplaying for about 7 years, my first game was Warhammer
Fantsay Roleplay, my second was Shadowrun, which I've been playing for 6
years. I also own Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Wraith, Dream Park,
James Bond, Earthdawn, Luther Arkwright, Amber (though never played it,
never actually finished the book), and Tunnels & trolls ( only ever played
solo once or twice). I've played CoC, Pendragon, GURPS, and a few home
brew games.

At present SR and ED are teh banes of my life as I immaturely feel
compelled to buy every book available -which I've sadly done, all except
the ED novels and a few of the latest releases which I'll be purchasing
over Christmas break :(

I do also have a life by the way :)

Name: Carl Schelin
Age: 39
Sex: Male
Location: Woodbridge, Virginia, USA (displaced Californian)
Occupation: LAN Administrator, NASA Headquarters Server Operations
Position: Sitting, generally
Gaming: ~30 years (Chess counts, club champion 2 years straight in high school)
Wargaming: ~28 years (Richtofen's War was the first)
RPGing: 20 years (Dungeons & Dragons)

Hmm, playing double-pack Pinochle at the Army Rec Center in '76 when someone
from a table on the other side of the room decided they needed another
"player" for their game and was I interested. I rolled up a character and
played the next few weeks in the City State (Invincible Overlord? Emperor? I
forget which was first).

Married in '77, first kid in '78, transferred to Germany and played a few
games at the post club but generally played with others in the barracks,
AD&D started coming out (I received a mis-printed DM's Guide, started
getting "The Dragon" at issue #29, created the initial maps for
"Garth", my
gaming world) returned to "the world" in '80, organized NOVASAD (Northern
Virginia Society of Adventure Gamers), played AD&Dr1, Car Wars, Cosmic
Encounters, Traveller, started my "Computerized Dungeon Master" as a simple
menu program, Car Wars vehicle generation program (both on the CoCo (Radio
Shack Color Computer)), Tunnels & Trolls, picked up many modules for ideas
but very seldom ran them, ported my TCDM program to the IBM, continued with
gaming, mainly in AD&D, second kid in '83, still playing, attending some
cons, getting the kids into the games, youngest is playing monsters due to a
short attention span, start programming job, move to LAN administration,
picking up AD&Dr2 rules and incorporating the rules I like into my game, '89
found the 'net when I started working for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab,
really into programming and gaming, helped with NetHack (I'm in the
credits), checking for cyberpunk type games and found Shadowrun (mainly due
to CyberPunk being on a non-rec.games.frp group), tried playing a few games
with some success but little followup with my group, divorced in '96, I got
the house and both large gaming...living rooms, once I get reorganized I'll
starting the gaming again (I ran a game last summer)!

Enough information?

Sorry Gurth Every member in our group gm's, Session goes:
Every one turns up
one of us says 'So who has got something to do?'
another one (usually me but I like gm'ing) says'Yeah I got loadsa stuff'
Or no one says anything, so one of us improvs.
Note: having said this, I do usually Gm As the whole of the group love Sr2 and
we have been running the campaign for ages. and I nearly always have stuff
done or at least some pretty good Ideas.

On a different note My Granpa is a GP and he actually had some one who
seriously put yes in on a form, it took nearly 5mins to explain that it meant

SR

Played : D&D, Champions, Marvel, SR, Earthdawn, Cyber Hero, Toon, WW

ArsMagica, SLA.

Tried (at least once, at charity event, one off games etc.) : Amber,

Cannot remember any more at the moment, i have read a few more some
worth trying some not.

Extras, Battletech, Challenger (ultra modern wagame), DBM, MTG, Chess,

one thing is these days i am starting to meet roleplayers that have

nicked! I and my friends have many fond memories of those sessions. That
adds up to 19 years. We started playing Shadowrun in 1990, so six years
ago. I don't GM Shadowrun (although I have), but GM a Shadowrun spin-off
of my own devising. The rules are loosely based on Shadowrun rules, and
the setting is Harn (Columbia Games Inc.'s fantasy world, utterly detailed
and really fabulous).

Let's see. I started RPGs about eleven years ago when I invited myself
into an AD&D group. Had great fun playing and, less often, G(D)Ming.
Started Shadowrun in 1990 when a friend said "Aw, come on guys,
try it!". Haven't looked back since. Spend my time, these days, about equally
divided between playing and GMing Shadowrun with up to eight friends
(some more frequently than others) and about forty Shadowrun characters
between us. Love playing in that distant, legendary city called Seattle on
the other side of the planet in that foreign nation called UCAS, US or
somethin'.
I think their President, William someone, was here just recently ;-)
Just starting to play Peter Leitch's Shadowharn fantasy game as he develops
the rules.

Ah, you too? I used to be a full-time GM. Got to play the game and not
worry about GMing for the first time this year; I was kinda hard to
control, as the rest of the group will no doubt testify.. *grin*

I suggest you recruit someone else to GM for a while and take a break;
It'll probably help you get ideas back.

Well, here goes nothing; I've been playing RPG's and wargames since about
age 11, when I started with Steve Jackson's Car Wars (God I loved running
over MONDO's).. I used to play AD&D but converted over to Shadowrun in'89
when it came out over here, and when AD&D went 2nd ed. and killed the
Forgotten Realms Gods

Well, lets see; I've been GMing the game pretty much constantly since I
got it, and I love it. I recently got to play and not GM for the first
time, and I love it even more. Our current group ranges anywhere from
four to eight players. Personally I really want that long-anticipated
Australian Sourcebook to come out so we can have and 'official' place to
play which we have the feel for.... Of course I'm writing NERPS material
on Australia at the moment to fill in, because the official book isn't due
out for about a year at least.

Oh, yeah, what else? I'm a self-confessed 'balance freak'... Not quite
a rules lawyer; The game balance matters more than the rules any day.
