I agree that the PCs should empathize with what their characters go
through and act realistically about it, but once you see some of the
number crunching that goes on out their, you'd see that +8 is rather
small for some groups, and way too big for others.
I think a +8 is just reasonable for my group, since most of us are
honest players. However, I've seem some characters out there on the
internet that make my ass hurt- not a single stat that's less than 10
and all... believe me, what's good for the goose, isn't always good for
the gander. :)
