Well,
What do you think of phys ads taking Vision Mag. 3? Myself, I'm in
favour of it, it sounds a perfect example of the Sensory Enhancement power.
My GM though, he says that it's too powerful. So, I ask him how. He says
"Mag 3 for .25 essence? Too powerful." But a Street Sam can get Thermo,
OPtical Mag 3 and Low-light for .4 essence (.2 each for two cyereyes).
"Yeah, but the Street Sam has to Pay for it." Yeah, but do you guys
know any Sammies that don't put A or B in resources? I don't......
So, any opinions?

It sounds reasonable to me, except that I'd say the cost should be higher
than .25 Magic. I'd say .25 per level of Mag. (Surely you wouldn't
claim Mag 1 and Mag 3 should cost the same?)

I wonder what the physad's eyes would look like while using the ability?
Bulgy, probably...

That is, in fact, exactly how it works. Any PhysAd enhanced sensory ability
that mimics cyberwear costs .25 per level. So Thermographic costs .25
(there's only one level), Mag-3 costs .75, and a level 2 Olfactory boost
costs .50.

Only if you want the SFX to look that way. PhysAd abilities tend to be much
more subtle than their cybernetic counterparts. But then again not much is
quite the same kind of erie as a PhysAd's eyes "glowing" at night like a
cat's (LowLight).

my opinion is this, it should be a progressive cost from Vision Mag 1 to 3.
Probably not .25 though somewhere in the range of .1 - .2 for each.

Also, all of the paranormal/meta-human vision enhancements are magic based,
atleast according to fields of fire. Those creatures who could see well the
dark before the awakening, can now see VERY WELL in the dark. Also, metahuman
vision is not totally physics based, it has its magical component that makes it
much more effective than the comparable technology. So a phys Ad vision mag
ability would not look abnormal.

Personal, don't call them Vision Mag, call them

Eyes of the Sparrow - vision mag 1
Eyes of the Hawk - vision mag 2
Eyes of the Eagle - vision mag 3

Please note that The Dark Lord on High has stated that when you use vision mag,
its all or nothing. Either your at MAG 3 or your not at MAG 3, and when you are
at MAG 3, closer things are harder to hit. He also said that you could get
variable ones, but they would cost more.

Might I ask where you saw this quoted? I remember the rules saying it costs
.25 per enhancement, not .25 per level of enhancement.
Myself i sorta like the idea of their being one area where the Phys-Ad's
Enhanced Senses ability being more powerful than you'd expect..... and besides,
like I said before, the essence cost is already higher. (.25 just for vis mag
3)

In both SRII and the original Grimthingy.
