This relates only tangentally to the current Physad vs. Cyber/bioware Martial A
rtist discussion, but how have Physads changed in SR2? Having only played/ran t
he first edition, I would think the benefits of being a physical adept as opoos
ed to cyber-boy are numerous, but the comments made about physad powers in SR2
make me wonder how much things have changed. Were Physads seriously down-power
ed? If, so why? They are/were hardly as bad as mages in SR1.

Just Wondering,
Jeff

One reason for the "downgrade" was that Physical Adepts were stealing too
much of the Street Sammi's thunder. And maybe the guys at FASA just thought
that they were too powerful. The result is that a heavily wired Sammi will
be superior in straight-out combat (both melee and firefights), but the
Physical Adept will have a wider variety of ability (stealth, unarmed or
armed combat, and just weird stuff).

Are they less powerful than before? Yes. Are they less powerful in general?
I don't think so. Just don't try to play a Physical Adept like a Street
Sammi, or you'll wind up with a dead PhysAd.
