Subject: <Whine> Why should I buy SR3? </Whine>

Ok, that's it...

<sigh> Either we're getting an influx of new and REALLY whiny players, a
couple of you SR2 haters have gotten multiple e-mail accounts and are just
trying to be annoying, or the intelligence level of the general populace
has gone down.

As much as I hate to do this, so far in the last few weeks I've seen at
LEAST 4 people complain about there being a 3rd Edition, and whine about
how they don't want to have to buy a new edition, and then ask what's new
about it. Usually in a snotty and challenging "What's so new that I REALLY
need to buy this? I like my old edition" tone of voice.

GO READ THE LOGS.

I'm sick of rehashing the same fragging question, and sick of seeing the
same damned arguments. Same goes the fucking "SR has now flavor anymore"
comments.

Get a life and go play another game if you don't like this one that much.

If you don't like it shut your mouth and don't take part in it.Shut your
mouth and keep your snide remarks to yourself. If you don't have anything
intelligent to say or add: Shut the fuck up.You may think these people are
whiny and annoying.Fine ignore them.Don't waste your time and more
specifically ours with your "This sucks that they just won't fall into line
with the rest of us" crap. I like seeing what other people have to say,
especially since I haven't formed my own opinion in concrete yet.I like
being able to see what other people have to say. If you don't like that
follow your own advice: Get a life. If you are so insecure or idiotic that
you either can't handle criticism of the sytem or god forbid a different
line of discussion than the one you want, there is a first grade class with
your name all over it. I really hope this pisses you off to no end. I really
hope it bothers you. Cause then I still win.

Gee, Gridsec, could we do something about this, for a variety of reasons,
one of which, and certainly not the least, of not following the FAQ with
regard to proper quoting procedures. I'm sure other violations could be
easily figured out, too...

That's pretty inflammatory. I think we'd all feel better if you'd turn it
down just a notch.

Oh look... I'm sorry you've been so scared by big Bull Boy... clearly you
cannot stand opinions and comments to your silly posts.

But don't worry, we're here to protect you. Our protection will follow three
stages:

First stage: Chill off. It's clear you cannot take place in a civil
discussion. My suggestion is to make sure your brain is engaged and running
before doing anything more complicated that lace your shoes.

Second stage: Before spewing your holy comments on a product (or a series
of), you're kindly suggested to try it and discover its advantages and
disadvantages. It's pretty clear from your initial posts that this has not
been done. I'm kinda forced to remind you that this kind of ignorance is the
same kind that leds to racism and other less than acceptable forms of social
behaviour.

Third stage: Given that this discussion list it's a novelty to you, you
surely won't mind being banned by it, if your general aptitude regarding the
rest of the participants will not improve VERY quickly.

Regards,

-Paolo

So, lets all agree on two things :

1. No more whining like so explicitly said by Mr.
Machinov
2. No more reply on this thread

Interesting comments, one and all.
Let's look at them shall we?

While Bull was certainly a little brusk with his post, he WAS giving you
some input.
Very good input I might add.
Doing a search through the ShadowRN logs will allow you to find answers to
all the questions you posted.
The reason Bull was a little short-tempered was because most of us
"old-timers" have been hashing out this "What the heck is wrong with
FASA/SR3?" bit for over a year now.
It does get old.

Let's face it, this mailing list is a dynamic entity, and reading all this
mail, much less responding to it can be tedious.
So if I sent a post exaplining my opinion on the current state of "flavor"
in SR3 just about a month ago, and then someone dredges up an almost
identical question this month ... am I gonna spend another hour or so
posting almost identical information that the bulk of the list already has?
No. sorry. Human nature just isn't like that, especially when you have
already covered this ground before.
You asked Bull not to waste his time, but that is exactly what you are
asking us to do - cover ground that has already been handled.
If you really want more help, then it wouldn't hurt to ask a little more ...
for lack of a better word "nicely."
You mention that your not a big "geek" - that's fine, but you would go too
far wrong by learning a little basic netiquette, and by being a little less
confrontational in your posts.

Friendly people get mail.
Annoying people get ignored. ;-)

So I guess I'm giving you the same answer in slightly more polite tones.
Go look in the logs at ... http://www.jackpoint.org
Search for subject lines with words like SR3, flavor, and Neo-Anarchists
they should be informative

You want specific?
Fine.
Hit this link
...http://jackpoint.org/pipermail/shadowrn/Week-of-Mon-19990816/author.html
And check out the Subjects "Narrowing of Focus", "Harrowing of
Focus", and
"Wait and See"

Those should provide you some of the info you're looking for.

Oh yeah, that's your one freebie from me.
From now on you do your own research, just like a Big Boy, OK? ;-)
Just like the rest of us. ;-)

>" Religion is a crutch for those who lack the moral courage and intestinal
>fortitude to face reality on their own terms"

Oh yeah, I think "inflammatory" is a very good description here. ;-)
You should look in the archives and logs for some folks named Ripclaw, and
TopCat and see how they fared here! ;-)

Tone it down a little pal.
We CAN all get along if we have a little patience and respect for each
other. ;-)
