The guy in my group had basically the same problem, although he didn't
see it so much as something that was immune, as picturing it in his mind
as not being messed with because it's _his_: only other peoples' cool
equipment gets blown up/stolen/hacked/etc.

*sigh* I recognize that, too. First there's a lot of talk about how
something isn't right, you say "Just roll the dice", and then after the
dice roll it turns out that the roll is good or bad enough that it
doesn't matter anyway.

That's even worse than the guy who used to play Face-type characters in
my group had. He only had something like 30-35 contacts with one of his
characters ...
