MIME is a total pain in the asre when I'm trying to skim through my mail.

PLEASE. Loki and all the others. Send your mail as PLAIN text, not RICH.
And switch off your mailers MIME thingy.

I checked my settings. I am set for using Plain Text. As for MIME , I can
switch between it and UUencode I'm set currently det for MIME: Encode using
none. Is UUenconde going to be better for you?

I think as long as you're not sending any attachments, then yes....

Not to sound silly on this, but does the above mean use MIME: Encode (none)
as long as I'm not sending attachments or use UUencode if I'm not sending
attachments?

Also, is anyone else having problems getting/receiving/or making sense of
my e-mails?

I think the way MIME works is that it only activates if stuff is sent
non-ascii. This includes attacments, fonts, italic and bold stuff and so on.

If you turned it off, it should just send plain text....

I use elm, which is a pretty good mailer, but it doesn't get on well with
MIME.....

MIME stands for 'Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions'. What it does is
extend the basic mail message format to allow such things as graphics,
video and voice messages to be sent with email messages as 'attachments'
or 'enclosures'. It also allows a wider range of characters to be
transmitted: with MIME you can transmit almost any character in the
Windows character set.

I'm not having any trouble at all, but then I have a MIME capable
mailer, so it may be decoding your stuff automatically. A lot of other
mailers availble can't handle MIME, and some, as I;ve found out recently
(sorry Olaf) can't handle standard UUEncoding either. It's usually best
to make sure that your mailer is set to standard text format, as all
mailers and software packages are capable of reading this type of post.
