Well, finally, I got my greasy meathooks on a new Shadowrun book.
Hopefully, by the time I read any replies to this post, I'll have
Cyberpirates and R2 and be all caught up. I thought I'd give a little
review/preview for any GM's out there that are thinking about buying
this.

This is my overall review, for just about anyone:
Overall, I was pretty impressed. I really expected this book to be
lame, but it's pretty good. The only thing that really sucks about it
is that is should have come out right around the time PAoE did, so all
you get for references is a "quicklist" of critters in the back, as well
as their powers. Heaven forbid FASA rehash and resell the orginal PA
books for the latecomers. <g>
The art was the only thing really lacking (literally, there was
like one pic every 10 pages), but I did like MacDougal's drawing of a
Juggarnaugt and Bergting seems to be getting better(or he's growing on
me, either one). As I mention below, the editing job wasn't that great.
I saw many misspellings and had re-read some sections just to try to get
the order of events straight. Now, on to the good stuff...

Okay, the first part of these series of three adventures is called
"Forbidden Fruit". It sends the runners to Amazonia with some
scientists in search of the Brazillian Kiwi fruit that was mentioned in
Dunkelzahn's Will(p. 32, IIRC).
This run, if you can get past the worst editing job I've seen since
the first Harlequin, isn't bad in theory. It offers runners a chance to
get into the jungle(the real one), and experience critters good and bad.
It also adds a great element of mystery, suspense, and horror if one can
play it off just right. Kudos to the authors. It also has more plot
twists than pretzel pipeline.

The second adventure is called "Wild Kingdom". Basically, this to
me appears to be the token adventure to go with Cyberpirates, and so
maybe anyone out there who has read can form a more solid opinion about
this run. But, from what I read, it didn't seem too bad, either.

The third, and last, is called "Baser Instincts". It's about
someone or something controlling critters in the Fort Lewis zoo and
Seattle area. This, IMO, is probably the best one. It gives runners
new areas of Seattle to explore(like under it) as well as new sinister
elements you can add. And you can even make the runners look like heros
at the end(temporarily fraggin up their rep) with the media all over
'em. Of course, the mysterious entity could be anything a GM could
want... *couHORRORgh*...
