I do not support this proposal. I don't mind the shadowbabble and when I do
I simply press the delete key. Also, I think there's room enuff for both
this and the normal rules-type stuff.

Hmm, maybe I should explain. The purpose of the additional list would not
be primarily to ease traffic on SHADOWRN, even though it would have that
effect.

I have always been facinated by the way FASA builds the society of seattle
by using the computer entries. The additional list would be to have an
active message base for just building that society.

For gaming purposes, what I would do with it is this:
Have my players read the shadowtalk list and participate.
Use the things that originate on the list as the background for my
games.
For players that don't use the computer, I can provide the logs of the
weeks avtivities for them to give them the weekly background
of what has been going down.

Now I know it could be done on SHADOWRN, but I would like to see it as a
seperate entity for reasons of avoiding confusion and as making it a
useful play-aid.

In terms of the impact it would have on the current list, really the only
thing that will happen is those that don't mind the "babble" will
subscribe to two lists, while those that don't want it will stick with
SHAODOWRN, and those that only want the "babble" will signoff of SHADOWRN.

I don't know, this is just an idea I've had floating around my brain since
SHADOWRN came online and I think it could be a lot of fun and really
interesting. Besides, if it doesn't work, we can always cancel it.
