I recently visited one of the rpg/comics shops in my area to complain about
the lack of Shadowrun books in stock (on very friendly terms). All of the
players I have recently converted to the game have been complaining about
the lack of support for the game, there are never any books in stock, orders
take ages to get there, etc.

I was told that the distributor in our area are dragging dragging their feet
about it. So, we've decided to take action.

At the next Con coming up this month, a demonstration will be organised in
true South African fashion. Placards with slogans such as:

"We demand more Shadowrun!"
"Playing Shadowrun is not a crime!"
"There are alternatives to dwarf tossing!"
"Play more Shadowrun!"

A list of our demands will be presented to our favourite distributor's
representative. (e.g. what stock we would like them to get in ;)) We will
also drag one of the shopkeepers in (after getting his permission first)
with a tyre around him and threaten to necklace him should our demands not
be met.

We will then also loudly inform everyone of a seminar that will be held on
the sunday on Shadowrun and how to play. After which we will retreat before
the police arrive ;)

So, what do you guys think? Anyone want to join or perform similar actions
at their own Con's if they are experiencing the same problem?

We are hoping that much fun will be had by all and also that it will get
more players and stock for us as well as more games run at Cons.

I love the last one, although IMNSHO, the tyre thing sounds a bit much.
Perhaps waving handfulls of bills (they dont have to be big ones
- handfulls of money looks good whatever the denomination :-) at the
distributor saying "Look! we have money! We WANT to spend this money on
lovely new shadowrun stuff! Why are you stopping us! Buy More! Buy New!
We're young, and we have money to burn!" ;-)

Hmm, actually that does sound like a good idea. Kind of the point we want
to get accross. As for the tyre thing...Guess it depends on the hour and
exactly how much alcohol has been consumed by the general populace up to
that point ;-)
