Yeah, I'd agree with that last sentence. For role-playing value
only, I think the scientific types would be able to refine and control
their abilities more, while the "mystics" (I prefer the iced tea myself)
would have more gross power.
But it would be too complicated to try to show this in the
mechanics; we don't want to overwhelm people. This would be very
interesting to put in the history, of course -- perhaps a clip from some
article talking about how surprised the MIT&T scientific community was
when a bunch of monks from Tibet suddenly appeared on their doorstep with
all the answers! (And when I say appeared, I _mean_ appeared...!)

I disagree. Like I said earlier it would be like a totem-shaman thing.
