Yes. Capsule review: The writing is poor, IMHO, but (and this is a big
one) there is a lot of useful information in it. It goes into a great
deal of detail about Otaku: how they work, why they work, how they're
"created", etc. There is also a good deal of information for those who
want a "pseudo" cannon definitive answer about whether or not AIs are
possible. All in all, while I didn't like the book from an entertainment
point of view, the information and insight gained make it worth the read.

Psychotrope is written by Lisa Smedman correct? It doesn't shock me then
that the writting is poor. The Lucifer Deck was an okay book. Nothing
really special IMHO. But Blood Sport...the writing in that was AWFUL. I
couldn't believe it. First I think the ONLY reason the book was written
was to show off the Aztlan sourcebook and a few other topics which had come
out that didn't appear in books yet.
If I had to read another "blah blah, IF I HAD ONLY KNOWN AT THE TIME THAT
_______ would happen, I never would have ______"
It drove me crazy and I through most of the book every other chapter ended
with that sentence in one form or another.
I have no idea what the hell FASA is doing letting her write books for
them...I'm sure there are better writers who'd love to get a chance to
write a novel...
I'm going to buy the darn thing, to support FASA (not Smedman) and because
I have every novel so far. I'll just pray till then that they find some
more authors and not have to use people just because they're there.
Doesn't FASA care about quality control...I'd rather see quality than
quantify, and I thought that was the direction they were heading towards.

Also...to go with the recent complain about the Cover Art...did you ever
read the back of Blood Sport on the intro to the book? Who wrote
that...it's not even correct! I can't remember now but there was at least
two or three things that just were not in the book...

*deep breath* ah, I feel better now.
