I never thought that I would get into this but still. Recently
one groups I gamed with decided to change the basic system of the RPG
we where playing (Traveller: The New era). Anyway to cut a long story
short the system sucks, but we have a brillent GM. (The convoultions
on the plotline a) give you a headache b) guarentee when you go home
you sleep for 12 hours solid. We decided to change the system to that
of shadowrun while keeping the characters and campaign going.

Still one of the factors in TTNE is the psyonics play a role (my
character) after some serious debate we came up with the following
rules.

The character starts with a Psyonic Rating of 1. Every time a
character initates the character gains +1.

The character has any powers that are mentioned in SR2 as spells
except the area effect spells, elemental spells (fireball).

When a character learns a power it is treated as a skill for
karma costs. ie Psyonic Pat has Mind Link at 3, to push it to 4, it
costs 8 karma.

When using a power the character declares at what force he is
using the power at up to the max force of the power. ie Psyonic Pat
has Mind Link at 4, he can decided what force to use his power at
either 1, 2, 3 or 4. The character then rolls the dice equal to the
force of the power against the Will Power of the Target. There is no
Psyonic Pool.

When resisting drain, the character rolls Will Power +Psyonic
Rating vs drain (asif it where a spell). The first Success reduces
the drain by 1 block, each subsiqint (sp) 2 successes by another
block.

The psyonic is unable to summon spirits, conjure elementals etc
and unable to astrally project, although the character can astrally
percieve (Skill), center , mask and shield at appropriate grades.

The maximum level a power can be at is the characters
Intellegence+Psyonic Rating

We are currently working on forcing powers etc.

Oh, and the psyonic character is extremely rare and has to spend 'A'
on Psyonics. He gains initial power ratings the same as a mage would
gain spells.

Btw most of the physical spells don't exist either like physical
barriers (although mana barrier does but effects only psyonics)

My 0.002 (or less)
