Why would they try to get rid of the song? Do you think they would try
to get rid of movies like Dragonslayer and Dragonheart as well? What about
all the Pern books?
If they tried to dispose of all the refernces to dragons in
songs/books/movies it take them until the 7th age to get it finished.

Don't forget that the drgons inspired these same legends, and seem to like
the fearsome image, except maybe -D-, who probably would have purchased the
rights and made the Jewel of Memory sing it to Lofwyr everytime he used the
artifact. IMO

I guess its more the plain anoyance of that song. It would be a
service to humanity if someone got rid of that song. Or is that just my 2
years working in a toystore talking. I think i have heard that song
atleast 400 times in the last 2 years.:)

Anyway i could see some of the Great Dragons getting offended by
SOME of the songs/movies/books out there that put dragons in a bad
light(week, comical, ect) Or some of the songs could accedently gotten to
close to "Things Man Was Not Supposed To Know" (tm) and the dragons what
to hush it up. NO I will not blame it on the IEC though the a horor with
a sense of humor could have fun with it....

Besides... What better way to manipulate mankind into viewing them as

their return?...

I don't think they would try to get the old stuff banned, because that would
look bad for PR... besides, Puff the Magic Dragon and Dragonheart both cast
dragons in a friendly role... not something they want to discourage.

I imagine they would've played it at Dunky's public appearances as a PR tool.
Puff was a swell dragon that everyone just loved, so that would be the same
image that the PR flacks would like to inspire in people when they though of
Dunklezahn.

But that's my 2¢ and sometimes I take things way too seriously....

I got one! By being huge creatures the size of airplanes, breathing fire,
and casting incredibly powerful magics?

Or by casually hauling out gold nuggets the size of people in order to buy
major corporations lock, stock, and barrel?

Or by running for President? (Okay, that one wouldn't work...)

In short, dragons didn't need to manipulate mankind. Just being themselves
would make _me_ view them as creatures of awe.

I *KNOW* they wouldn't *NEED* to.
But that's what dragons do, isn't it.
They are the master manipulators, I imagine they view it as a hobby...
Something to stop them from being bored stiff.
