By coincidence, I happen to have read VR over the weekend. There are two
references to Pure Cybernetic Command, both in the Cybercombat section:
The first, on page 46 ("Initiative"), involves increasing initiative.
"Deckers who wish to run under pure cybernetic command, sans keyboard,
receive an extra dice for Initiative. They also receive other modifiers, as
noted elsewhere." It then goes on to describe how combined keyboard/cyber
gives no modifier, and keyboard only totally sucks.
The second, on page 49 ("Simsense Overload"), talks about what happens
whenever a deck takes persona/MPCP damage. The decker makes a Willpower test
vs Number of Boxes inflicted to avoid a Light Stun. "If the decker is
running purely on a cybernetic level, with no keyboard, he receives a +2 to
the Target Number he must beat in the resistance test." Combined gets no
modifier, and keyboard only negates the effect. (By the way, Hitcher Jack
guests are also subject to this at half the TN.)
