I sincerely hope. :) However, just to close the subject, what I
meant by the fact that they were "useless" is NOT that they were
"useless", and that could account for misunderstanding ME :),
but that they were of some use in very special occasions. Skis
need snow, rafting and scuba need water, base jumping needs tall
(REALLY tall) buidings, and so on. While they CAN make a one-off
game fun (a-la James Bond, as you all pointed out rightly), they
should not be regarded as a way to turn a cyberpunk game into a
rad craziness... Or, better, if you like rad craziness, that's
OK with me, but don't blame me if you players then all want 10
points of each coz "they only cost a karma per 2 points" and
"we cannot live without them" :)

P.S.- the idea of using scuba gear in the sewers was really
good, if a little smelly :) Hafta write an adventure about it,
my *cat* shaman is gonna like it (EVIL GRIN)

Anyways, scuba is the subject of the next part of PuWa's guide
(which is going to be "3 & 1/2" since part 2 was skipped)... Any
ideas? Yes, you CAN tell me you don't want to hear about it
(from me)! - counts as an idea! :)

It does sound like a way to make runs more challenging... for yourself,
that is... Y'know.. you've gotten hardened, so you start taken runs that
will allow you to be straight ass silly. Tall building run? You're
bringin' a parachute, baby. You don't care how many sec guards you have
to take out. You're making your way up to the roof after the end of the
run and jumpin' off.

Speaking of useless skills... how about Art skills? I've Got Poetry,
Musical Instrument, and Photography for my character. =) (With
Conc/Spec in Haiku, Accoustic Drums, and Polaroids respectively).

Ever seen "Escape from New York"? The main character landed a glider on top
of one of the world trade center towers. I'm not quite sure how possiblew it
is but it raises possibilities. :)

Useless? Poetry and musical instrumants make perfect centering skills. Not
to mention how many sec guards are gonna harrass the guy accross the street
playing for the passersby. Sounds like a good way for some surveillence to
me. Best place to hide something is out in the open. :)

"What are you doing, Snake?"
"I am (censored)"

One of the best movies ever.
Still no response for PuWa's guide part 3 &1/2. SCUBA! Come on
boys, you can do it... Never used scuba gear? Send the stats to
em and I will put them into PuWa's part 3 & 1/2 (with full
credits)!!! Or do I have to do it all myself again (convenient,
eh?)?

Never used SCUBA gear though as a former lifeguard I do know that flippers
can increase your speed twicefold. However it also can tire you out faster
then normal swimming. Say a ten to twenty percent drop for lower skill
abilities.

Forgot I made this post... wonder how many replies I accidentally
deleted... =P

Anyway... In _my_ group, this is pretty standard... We've worked our guys
up to an average of 200-300 karma each... So we get a little silly. Our
shaman has catfall quickened on himself... On a recent run he had an in
character argument about whether or not he'd jump out the 20th floor
window. No reason why he should. He jsut wanted to. Thought it would
be neat. =)

Heh... never thought of that... I'd gotten drums because my co-GM and I
have made numerous jokes about how Harlequin's Back is a lot like the
Beatles' Yellow Submarine (the movie). Figured my character was the
short one, so he'd have to be the droomah.

Yup... Otaku/Rigger/Street Doc/Mechanic/Technician/Droomah
