Are these two being discussed because they are similar, or because they
are possibly (if not already in some way) merging? I missed the early
parts of the thread, and just wanted to know.

You know that SR is the 6th age with real life being the 5th right ?
Well ED is the fourth. One can learn a lot of things about the sixth
world by looking at the previous magical era, namely the 4th world.
