Subject: | Question #1: Zero Net Hits |
Date: | Sun, 25 Sep 2005 12:20:01 -0400 |
myself to the new system and have come up with two questions. This is
the first of those two:
Clarification, to make sure I understood the rules:
Bob rolls an unarmed melee attack against Joe, with a total of /X
/hits. Joe rolls the opposing test of dodge, parry, block (or full
defense), and archives /Y /hits. The result of the opposed test is
/X-Y=Z/. /Z/ is then added to the DV of the attack to determine the
effectiveness of the attack, so if the attack is a katana, then the
damage dealt is (6+/Z/)DV. Joe must now roll a Body+Armor=/W/ damage
resistance test, reducing the final damage of the attack to ((6+/Z/)-/W/)DV.
Q) If the statement above is correct, then when an opposed combat test
results in zero net hits, did the attack miss outright, or is the value
of X simply "0", and the process continues with the possibility that
damage may still be done? (i.e. /((6+(0-Y)-W)DV/?
Thanks
Tim
