Subject: Question about SENSITIVE Matrix 2.0 Utilities
Date: Mon, 26 May 1997 15:50:57 -0400
I've been looking at the utility options in my VR 2.0 book, and I've
checked several times, but none of the utilities seem to be able to accept
the "sensitive" option (It's not listed in the table at the back of the
book or in the entries on pages 96-100).

Are all the utilities able to take it, or is there something that I
missed?

I would say that all of the utilities would be able to take however, I =
don't believe that (normally) deckers will use this option. This is =
mainly for corps writing program. IIRC, this IS the option that only =
allows it to run on a certain system, right?

Yup-- That's the option. What you say makes sense, that only corps would
use it, but I need to know this for a program I'm writing to calculate
matrix program sizes and costs, so I need to know for sure.

Okay, that's cool like I said, I would allow ANY and ALL programs
(new, old, custom) to use that option and (this is a house rule but
I think it works) multiple optimizations (double cost/time for each
optimization, half size for each optimization, limit of program rating
optimizations applied).

That brings me to my question, is that a good house rule?

And if I haven't said it well enough yet, ALL programs my use sensitive =
option.

I think that's the option that means utils CAN'T be run on certain systems.
Remember teh story thingy of the Fuchi decker doing a run on another corp,
only his masking utils and such didnt work?
