Subject: Question about the magic system
Date: Wed, 18 Mar 92 11:13:49 +0100
>>>>>[ Hi there, we were playing SR last night and some
questions came up about some magic problems, witch i hoped
that some of you are abel to straighten out for me.....
1. Being use to D&D magic system, the shadowrun world has
opened up on some new and different ways for using magic. How
do you handel spells like "Slay enemy" an arier spell that
only affects the bad guys. In D&D this kind of spell was no_
where possible.
2. Magic and Matrix is also a hot subject at my grope, do any
of you aloe magic to be used together with decking ad all.
Eks. Dos combatsens raise the initiativ in the matrix? and how
about this: you take a decker and a mage, the mage casts Ana_
lyse Devise on the deck, assuming that he can cast it at force
6 using his intair magicpool+ watever Focuses he might have
getting adleast 4 successes. He then casts Combat sens and
gets 4 successes again(he won'd get more than 4 or 5 wile
sustaining 1 spell, and taking almost full drain from casting
the Analyse device). You'l end up with a archtype decker with
computer 10 and a boosted reaction. Personally i do not allow
ANY magic togeader with the matrix, but i wot like to here
your opinion.
3. A mage or shaman who has reachet the level of initiation
can go on a astral quest for nuligth to learn a spell, but is
this (1)lerning it so he can use as soon as he comes back or
(2) dos this mean that he has the design for it and thereafter
have to pay Karma to actualey learn it. Well Thats all for
now, hope i did'nt get to boring. Rain signing off....]<<<<<
