Subject: Question on the FBI

How much does the FBI work outside of the US in partnership with foreign
police forces? A while back I heard something about how the FBI attatches
agents to embassy's to liase between US police and the local police. Does
the FBI still do this? And to what extent do they get involved in stuff? I
don't mean local crime but inetrnational US/Foreign country X spanning
crimes.

Would they still be doing this in the 2060's? Reason I ask is I was
wondering with the increase of Traid organised crime gangs in Seattle coming
out of Hong Kong, I figured the Feds might send a couple agents over to Hong
Kong to help work on that end and liase with the HK police. How likely would
that be?

The FBI has offices in many countries, and most of them are attached to the
embassies. The most notable one that I know of is the one in Russia, at
Moscow.

Though the FBI could send some people to HK to liase with the HK police,
this would also be something more of a political action as well.

Would they do it yes, but very carefully though ...

At the same time, I can see the FBI also hiring runners to make hits on the
gangs as well ... going through multiple levels of contacts and fake
personae before ever reaching the runners, thereby creating plausible
deniability.
