Actually, it used to be in C, but it was changed over to Java in
October(?) in interest of preventing outages and in the hopes of making
it more user-friendly (it's supposed to upload new comments as they're
sent, before you had to reload the page) Of course, I haven't been there
since they went to Java (a move I supported, btw) so I don't really know.
ShadowRN is a much more friendly environment, in any case:)

Not to access the site, just to run the Java applets once you're
there...I don't know that it even requires 32 bits ('cause there's a
version of Netscape that can run Java under normal Windoze), but you
can't run Netscape for Win95 over AOL (you need a TCP/IP stack), and
normal Netscape can't run the applets, thought the 32-bit version can...

Apparently it can, it's just a heck of a lot more difficult and it runs
more slowly. At least, there's Netscape with Java in 16 bits, but I heard
somewhere that it runs much more slowly (and the implementation has
problems)
