Subject: Questions about the Narcoject

The SSC states in the desciption of the narcoject that the
target must make a "dodge"-test against the target number minus
impact armour. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My questions are:
-What is this target number? The force of the narco-rounds (i.e. 6) ?
or something else which FASA hid in an obscure paragraph?

-Can you use other fluid poisons (like the stuff in NAGRL) for your
narcoject, and if that can be done (I assume it is possible) wouldn't
it make the narco to deadly (or stunnly :-) )?

I don't know if you have the first or second edition SSC, but I've got the
first edition one, which says, and I quote:

"To penetrate a target's armor, firer must achieve more successes than the
target's Impact Armor value. Target may use Dodge Pool successes to increase
his armor value by 1 per success."

I don't know how the second edition SSC puts it, but the SRII Sourcebook
Update says to:

"roll only Combat Pool dice against the target number, no Body dice. If the
test succeeds, the target makes a Body Test against the narcoject toxin to
reduce its effect, but Combat Pool and armor do not help in this test."

Hmmm. *sounds of grinding cogs and gears* I can't find any target numbers
anywhere, so my guess would be to use either the Power of the narcoject (6,
you said?), or a basic 4. Or maybe, something like 10 - firer's base Target
Number. Only COmbat Pool dice against this target number, and if you roll
more successes than the firer the shot misses, I'd say.

You should be able to drain the poison from one of the darts. If it
discharges its contents when it hits, it should do the same when you prick
it into your neighbor's dog, or into a sponge or an I don't know what.
Refilling them with another poison would be the trick, but you could try
using a syringe, or simply by throwing the darts into a pot holding the poison.
If you succeed, the darts would do the damage of the poison you put into
them, not that of the narcoject.

Better be careful when refilling those darts, though :)
