Horrors are not related to any of those, at least as far as we know :) The
Horrors, which are called the Enemy in Shadowrun products such as
Harlequin's Back, are creatures from a metaplane; they're not native to
"our" physical world, unlike vampires etc.

You know, you might have something here. A lot of the HMHVV effects can be
linked to the Horrors. You have them eating essence, sort of like eating
negative emotion, and not all Horrors have the same diet. You have the whole
slave compulsion thing. You have new and more potent strains appearing as
the mana level rises. Why not Horrors that mimic a virus so that they can
form a permanant bond with a person in the physical plane before the other
Horrors can get through?

"Simon and Fiona" fell into my trap with this statement:

I would like to know if there is anymore info out on the web regarding Horror
crossovers. The good Brother (Brotherjustice50) sent me his info, and it got me
thinking, having just come back from GMing Earthdawn. One of the things that
has dissapointed me about things so far, is that people seem to have tried to
much to convert from the Earthdawn Rules, to the Shadowrun rules.

I am working on something at the moment which brings the horrors across keeping
the flavour of the Earthdawn abilities, while making them more shadowrun
related. This includes modifications to the Essense Drain rules and the like.
I will post a message here when I have a preliminary, and anyone who wants to
have a look at it can get a copy from me.

(Dread Iota's - fm Earthdawn direct, are a horror that exist in water, mostly
invisible. Hmmm imagine the suprise when they break a gate open in Seattle's
water supply and flood out into the suburbs...bwhahahahahahahahaha)

One thing you will rarely get from Horror essense drain is the addiction
compulsion. Horrors get their drain almost entirely from negative emotions, and
will not, for the majority have the same relationship that other essense
drainers do. The relationship with the horror with be far more insidious and
parasytic. Mostly, for the direct rules I am generating it will be a short
relationship too. I am also developing far reaching rules, because horrors will
vary their feeding habits, from picking on an individual, a group, or a large
group, anything up to a suburb or a city.

Most of the horror stats I will produce will be for low level horrors, I do not
believe that any of the strong horrors can come over at present. I thought the
whole scenario with Vergigorm a joke, it is no where near magical enough for
something that powerful to make it. You would be lucky to see a named horror,
in fact the only one I would use would be Chantrel's, though it would be named
differently (think Hellraiser, but far worse)

ooppps,
got carried away,
regards,
Edward.
