Hi,

I really don't understand the difference between a Turret and a Remote
Turret. Supposedly it should be the ability to use the latter remotely, but
since regular turrets are available for drones I asume those can be used
remotely as well. What I am missing?

If not Turrets need a gunner inside, like a Ring Mount? If it is a drone it
will need a Gunner also?

You're correct when you say that a standard turret requires a (meta)human
gunner while a remote turret does not. The fact that a standard turret is
capable of being drone mounted doesn't change its requirements.

A regular turret has a seat for the gunner (and possibly other crewmembers)
inside, while a remote turret does not.

Ring mounts are open: they're just a circular track on which a weapon is
mounted, so that it can be turned through 360 degrees. Look at
(photographs of) RL military trucks: many of them have a ring mount over
the cab, or in the cab roof.

Yes. You would have to have a drone large enough to carry the turret with
someone inside, and the person could operate the turret weapons.

Since remote turrets do not require a gunner they are built smaller than a
regular turret. This is reflected in the weapon value that the turret can
accomodate. If you check the rules in rigger 3 or 2 you will see that you
can use micro turrets and mini turrets to accomplish what you would normally
require a small turret. I don't have my books here but I believe the scale
for weapons values goes all the way up the to medium or large remote turrets
at which point the size of the gunner becomes negligible. The remote
turrets are listed to give drone makers the flexibility to mount turrets on
drones where space and load is at a premium.
