No, I know where I can go to buy and see the description of the minis, but
there are no images of what the Sci-Fi minis look like.

According to my distributor, some colors of partha paints will be
available in the spring, but the rumored price is $3.00 a bottle.
I'll provide updates when I hear of the paint being shipped.

But what other SR figs are there?

Yikes! That price's worse than GW paints!

Yeah, but it's worth every penny. GW paints are okay, but their
range of colors really is limited and their "natural" colors are
especially so. Ral Parth had like 20 different shades of brown, whereas
GW has 3. Same with green.

Grenadier made the first batch of SR minis. They had all the archtypes from
the SR1 book, plus some extra. The quality was... questionable IMO.

If anybody are looking for these minis I have lots of them for trade or
sale.

Never tried them. I've heard good things about Vallejo Paints. I use
mainly Craft (50 cents to a dollar for a huge ass bottle!) and Model
Master paints. :) They rock, though maybe less so if you drybush. (If you
don't the craft paints give a /smooth/ coat.)

As for their minis ... I want their Erinye mini ...

There are some Grenadier ones, but 10+ years after production ceased, you
have to be very lucky to find any. The only ones I ever saw were in a store
in Denver, in 1999, so I immediately bought them. (This was set #1302
Wendigos, which means there must also be a #1301 and possibly a #1300, in
addition to the two ten-figure sets advertized in some old SR books.)

Believe what you were told. Though I haven't used them much -- I own a total
of three bottles -- these are some of the best acrylics I've come across for
brush-painting. (I haven't tried them in an airbrush, though.)

Many of the miniatures are based on drawings in the books of SR 1st edition,
but positioning of the minis are often changed, like some detalis are
changed (weapons, some clothes, hairstyle).

These are the ones I have, everything in brackets are added by me, and not
part of the official description:

Blister packs:
#1301 Archtypes (female rocker, male street shaman, female amerindian)
#1303 Metahuman gang (male ork, male troll)
#1304 Eyekiller
#1305 Lone Star cops (3 males)
#1306 Barhests (2) w/ handler (human male)
#1307 Street gang (male elf, 2 male humans)
#1308 Harpies (3)
#1309 Elf biker on Rapier
#1310 Ork biker on Scorpion
#1311 Lone Star motrocycle cop (on Rapier)
#1312 (Human) Street samurai on Scorpion

Boxed sets:
#9701 Shadowrunners (street smaurai, street mage, burned out mage, shaman,
merc, rigger, former wage mage, ork mercenary (all from SR1) and female
street smaurai)
#9702 The corporate sector (dwarven security guard, mr. Johnson, company man
(former company man from SR1), cromed security guard, security guard, wage
mage, elven secirity guard, secirity guard w/pistol, troll security guard,
ork security guard)
#9703 Eastern dragon (and japanes male turist)
#9704 Feathered serpent (and female human turist)
#9705 Western dragon (and human male turist)
#9706 DMZ (Military officer, combat mage, dwarf merc, elven mage, body guard
(all from Sprawl Sites), elf street samurai, crimson crush gang (3 male
orks, 1 male troll))

The bigger miniatures are good (the dragons and eyekiller), but eventhough
the rest have lots of deatils, there are always something that just makes
you think "this mini dosn't look right".

For example the trolls are way to small. The size of the heads doan't always
look right in comparison with their bodies. Positioning of some of the minis
look wierd, or they lean in some wrong direction.

I'll try to do a scan of some of the minis and put them up on a page for you
alle to droll over, but please don't wait up for this to happen. It won't
happen until after the weekend.

Damn Marc! I just have to say, those are some sweet lookin'

But one question, what are you doing two-timing on Shadowrun with

I have a pretty good idea of what the figs look like, what I want to
figure out is trading stuff, what do you want for the figs, and how do
we ship them?

Actually, they look better in real life. Some of them didn't
photograph too well, and I don't have pictures of some of my more recent
work (like my heavily converted Tallarn standard bearer). I need to
update my site.

<chuckle> I paint WH40K because I *play* WH40K. And I paint for
other people who *also* play WH40K. But truth be told, I just like GW's
miniatures better. I know, blasphemy. People bash on Citadel all the
time for having "cartoony" minitaures whose proportions are all wrong, but
the fact remains that when 25-28 mm miniatures have the "correct"
proportions, they just look stupid. They're all gangly. And Citadel has
hands down some of the best detail sculptors in the business. Reaper is
close, but Citadel minis are usually *so* detailed that they're really
easy to dig into and get stoked about. Even their plastics are starting
to get pretty impressive.

When I drybrush, I tend to get a grainy transition, I don't know if it's
because of the size of the paint particles or because I need to use more
colors in the transition of the shading/highlighting. I want to try
Vallejo Paints to see if their finer particles help the minis look
better. :)

The best way to avoid that it to paint the highlights instead of drybrush
them. (That said, I can't be bothered to do that myself on a 25 mm figure,
either :) But if you use crafts paints, then I'd guess it's probably the
particle size that's causing it. Model paints should have this problem a lot
less, I'd think.

It seems like my list wasn't even close. Grenadier actually made 23 blister
packs, in addition to the 6 boxed sets. A complete list can be found at
http://www.accesscomm.ca/users/lmec/fgm_gmsh.htm

There is also a list of the Ral Partha miniatures at
http://www.accesscomm.ca/users/lmec/fgm_rpsh.htm but the list isn't complete
Gurth has a more complete list at
