Hi all! Just stopped in to make a little announcement here. A good
friend of mine has programmed a little SR2-Shadowrun Generator. Put
simply, this thing randomly throws together runs that you, as a GM,
can put your players on as filler between those oh-so-important runs
that actually have something to do with the plotline you've been
working so hard to perfect. As I understand it, there are currently
around 40,000 possible different runs that can be formed by this
program. It prints the important details in an easy to read paragraph
format onscreen. Keep your computer by your gaming table for easy
reference, or do as he does and go into the back room for a couple
minutes and return with 10 or so possible runs available at that time.
(and as a player, we don't know if it's an important one he's been
woorking on, or just one of the random runs he pulled off the computer.)
Of course, with a little imagination, any GM can link what comes off
this program to whatever he's been planning all along. =) Now I'm not
a programmer by any means so I can't tell you any specifics, but I do
know it requires Windoze (and perhaps Win95?) to run. I'll find out
more tomorrow. NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT! I know how you
guys hate those things. If there is interest for this thing, I will
post it on my web page for all to download free of charge. Whaddya
think? Would you guys be interested in something like this? Let me
know, publicly or privately.

Just a thought:
If you are putting together a generator of some sort, there is a source
book for star wars that has something similar in, if you got hold of that
there would probably be a load of stuff you could use....

And that was another thought from the black depths of my mind.

Agreed, though I think the "Please post" comment is directed toward a
comment the original guy made about posting it on his web site...

Attachments are very bad, especially Binaries, cause they frag my poor
little pooter badly, and unless you want to post several different versions
to the list (Something EVERYONE would hate), don't bother because we know
everyone is using different a bunch of different OS (Win, Win95, Mac, Unix,
Linux, Whatever-ex...:)).

Damn server crashes. Anyway, due to the fair response I received
concerning the Random S-Run Generator, I will be posting it to my web
page within the week. (Hey, I'm a busy guy!) The address is:

http://vax1.mankato.msus.edu/~zombie/web/Srun.html

Don't panic if it says "URL not found" or anything. I am making a
page specificly (sp?) for this program. And like I said, it won't be
available for a couple days, probably Thursday the 20, or Friday the
21 at the earliest. This will run on Win95 or Win3.1. It was
originally programed in *95 but when he tested it on another computer
(running 3.1), he found it didn't work and so rewrote the program.
It should work under any Win format now. Don't worry, I'll bug him
about making a DOS version. Windoze can frag itself and go to hell
IMNSHO!

That addy again is:

And what would that vote change? I'd rather suggest you ask the person
using this style (or lack thereof, or whatever) to stop it, explaining
how many emails you have per day, and so on.

When did voting ever really change a thing (sez da convinced democrat)?

Got enough of it from my days on AOL. Giving those people access to
the i-net is like opening the cages in a zoo. Now you can't escape
it. Maybe we can ridicule them out of existance, but they are usually

If s/he cant write correctly ... ok. I just don't understand much of
this stuff (But I understand this one), since I'm no native

then why should it be written? This list is for communication, and if

Besides which, why are you calling "kewl" or "soundz" abbreviations?
They're just as long, and infinitely more stupid than the correct
