Wohai, sorry dudes, just trying to get that stupid name away (Damn those
kiddythingies;o))
But, BTW has anyone seen anything in the SR 3rd about the maximum rate of
fire a full-auto-weapon can have?

How many slugs do our humble streetsams spray out of their ittle "toys" in
ONE complex action?

I haven't found anything more specific than (SR 3rd. Page 115/ 1st. block):
"Weapons that can fire in full-auto mode throw bullets for
as long as the attacker keeps the trigger pulled."

And finaly, (sound of cheering crowds, airborne hats and overjoyed gunfire
into the air) the SR 3rd.(Softcover) has arrived in germany, what a thing
to enjoy!
And to the rulesmasters delight, many changes, small ones but nontheless
many.

Nope. Nice to see I'm not the only one who noticed this little omission.
But, the only place I've ever seen it was in RBB1 and in FoF. I guess it
will be implemented once the HV weapons return, since the limit is a big
part of why HV stuff is so much fun.

For now, the only limit is the clip size :) It could make for some viscious
suppressive fire. You won't hit diddly, but it's going to scare the hell
out of anyone but the mot hardened combatants.

Actually there was a short thread about this on the list a while ago.

I use 10 for most full-auto weapons 15 for the exceptions. :)

I just bought the 1000 round belt in SSC for my HMG ... I can unload it
in one complex action? ;P~

Well ... you'll scare the hell out of hardened combatants (unless they're
stupid) but you won't hurt them ... All that gunfire will still have a
nasty psychological effect (which is part of the reason supression fire
works ... that and the bit about getting shot when step into the open ...
:)

According to laughingman, at 3:30 on 14 Sep 98, the word on the street was...

>

I'd noticed this lack of a solid rule, too. The Equipment chanpter refers
to the Combat chapter for this, and that doesn't mention much in the way
of a maximum number of shots.

Even single-shot mode is open to abuse, because it doen't specifically say
you can only fire on shot per Simple Action -- all it says is you can fire
it in a Simple Action, and not again that Combat Phase, but that could
mean you can fire it ten times in a Simple Action...

Semi-automatic is better, in that it says "Each shot requires a Simple
Action" which is pretty clear. Same with burst-fire mode.

Full-auto mode only says you need to fire at least three rounds, and
that's it. Technically you can fire a full 1,000-round belt in a Complex
Action if you feel like it.

I'd say this is another one that needs to be added to an errata that
should really come out sometime soon...
