Stainless Steel Rat contends that a Dead Zone can't exist because "none of
the laws of physics are in effect".

Correct, if you see them that way. I prefer the "selective enforcement"
theory, where individual laws can be suspended without affecting the others.
Sure, by removing one you remove the others, but why can't you assume that
magic makes up for it?

First, this would require an omniscient intelligence to determine which
laws are in effect and which are being "made up for" with magic. What is
this omniscient intelligence, and why is it mucking about with the fabric
of the Universe?

Second, if magic can make up for one physical law, then magic should, in
theory, be able to make up for all of them. Now, go back and re-read my
first point and see where it takes you.

as far as dead zones go I reckon there a pail of shite. You cannot just throw
physaical laws out the window. Before anyone one says anything, I know that
magic breaks physical laws quite often but it doesn't get rid of them.

Shadow Run II and especially ShadowTech are very good at trying to use reality
to back up the theories that are used. But dead zones don't seem to have any
explination.

Just my ramblings at 5:30am.

Cheers,
Matthew.
