From the message I saw from Mike, there will be rules for vehicle
construction, tech rules (This seems to be a recurrin gtheme nowadays.
First in VR2.0, supposedly in the Shadowrun companion, and now this), new
rules fro combat and rigging, a list of all vehicles in all the
sourcebooks, and soem optional rules, amongst other possibilites.

Someone said it would be released any moment..

At the FASA homepage, it says, "Available SEPTEMBER".

So don't hold your breath.

I always seem to end up plugging for other people.

There's a neat little APA called Scrawls from the Sprawls, whioch had an
article by Jon Szeto (who wrote for RBB2) giving away a bit of what
might be found within - including a section on the actual brainware
involved, etc. (I'm equal parts glad and dismayed that FASA's trying to
demonstrate its writers' expertise in a particular area; too often it
comes across as serious gamebook padding...)

Apparently FASA held it over since the CCG will debut at Gencon in
August.

Not for sure, but if it follows their normal Sourcebook, probably $18-20.00

We apologize for the delay in shipping Rigger 2. However, it IS shipping as
we speak, and should be in stores by the middle of next week.

Hiya folks,

I just bought the RBB2 and have given it a cursory inspection. I have
begun to read the book in detail, but had a couple of questions (even
though I have only gotten to pg. 30).

Some of the rules look a bit intimidating. Are they complicated to use
during combat, etc.? Or am I just getting that overwhelming feeling that
comes with reading all new technical books? What have your experiences
been like with these rules so far (specifically combat, sensor, and vehicle
design)?

Also, has anyone put together any form of erratta (official or not) for
this book? I have already noticed a couple of the examples have some
mathematical errors. ;) (pg. 21 and 26)

Any suggestions as to house rules or modifications to keep Riggers in on
the action while allowing game play to flow smoothly? So far, I like what
I see for the most part, but I fear the complications that might arise from
implementing such a large block of rules (basically, the slowing down of
play). Comments, suggestions, flames are welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Justin :)

I say Give(as in let them have it for free at char Creation)A special
drone that he /She has customized to do multible jobs(Aka:Let him have a
lmg,100/200 rounds belted , spy equipment,etc,etc.)
So far, I like what

I had the same feeling at first (though I *like* technical books), but
while playing, it's no that bad. Mainly because lots of stuff (especially
ED/ECD) are not very common anyway, so you don't have to use it often.
Same for MIJI.
I guess it can be very complicated if you have lots of very high-powered
vehicles/drones around and have to roll for all the built-in stuff every
round.

The rules are not overwhelming if you do your paperwork. You've got to
know all your numbers for the different tests, what your amplifiers can do
to range, and the stuff on strain. I made up little charts for me and the
rigger.

The vehicle building are a bit rough becuase of all the crunching, which
is why I'm working up a program to do it for me. (I never could get that
"Shop" one to run right.)

There is no official erratta. If you find something, post it here. The
author reads and posts to this list.

Supposedly, several different people are working on it.

I'll dig out the list I sent before and forward it to you. (Not the list
as a whole, no need for more clutter.)

After trying to make a rigger with RBB1 (couldn't even figure out
whether I had to use gunnery or firearms when using drones, for crying out
loud) I bought Rigger 2. In short, I loved it. Drones rule, and riggers
are cool. Too often had I heard that "riggers drive." How cool is that?
"Just drive" indeed!
Now, Riding Bean is incredibly cool, but then again, any anime where
a car can drive sideways, and the main character can take a pistol shot to
the forehead (don't worry, his bandana is made out of kevlar) has got to be
cool.
Sorry, I digressed there...
Anyway...I was also intimidated by all the electronic warfare rules,
and so avoided them by basing my campaign at gang level. The rigger's
drones are cameras on wheel made from spare Radio Shack parts (except for
the SMG turret...). I think the EW rules are there for realism (Think about
how imporftant EW is to moder-day combat aircraft) and as a way for a GM to
balance out the rigger. All the other character types have a counter to
them, but the new riggers...Watch out!
I think that Rigger 2 itself suggests that you start with the basics
and incorporate the more complex rules later, once you don't have to check
the rules anymore.
