Subject: RBB2 Question

Hiya folks :)

I have a player who wants to run a Rigger. Thus, I went out and purchased
the RBB2 and we have been working at learning the rules through lots of
practice. One thing I can't figure out, however, has to do with the
actions a driver can perform with his vehicle. For the most part, the
rules make sense. However, what if what he wants to do is both a special
maneuver AND requires braking or accelleration? Can you only do one? Can
you combine two different things? If so, are there rules for this that I
missed? I'm confused. ;)

The example we had was that he wanted to swing his car to a right angle
with another (parked) car. He was going slow enough that a successful
braking test would allow him to stop (with enough successes), but isn't the
spin 45 degrees thing a maneuver of its own?

Thanks,

Justin :)

Each vehicle action (accelerate/brake, position, ram, hide, relocate) requires
one action. So if you want to combine multiple vehicle actions (accelerate &
ram, for example) you need multiple actions (i.e., get an Initiative result of
11 or better).

In the example you described, that would be considered a Positioning maneuver.
Positioning can be used for one of two things: (1) improving a vehicle's
Maneuver Score, or (2) getting a vehicle to arrive (and/or stop) at a certain
point. See p. 47 (particularly the paragraph at the bottom of the left-hand
column) of Rigger 2 for a better clarification.

Hope that helps,

-- Jon
