Riggers rejoice! Air drones are almost here.

My fave quote: '"We are just about at the limit of human capabilities to
put human beings in fighter aircraft", says Vance, referring to
high-gravitational, or G-force, limitations of humans who cannot withstand
more than 7 or 8 G-forces. "The development of this type of
remote-controlled craft will permit up to double digit G turns that will
able to outperform enemy fighters both on the ground and the air",
according to Vance.
"Whoever can build this has complete air superiority and we are way
ahead of everybody else in the world on this", says Vance.'

This is kind of funny, as I seem to recall this kind of development already
in existence or rather has been in existence now for more than two years.
The double-g turns could be new, as I don't recall this from earlier
combinations.

I do admit, it makes the drones such as the Wadjina seem so incredibly out
of date though...

I recently attended a seminar given by a big shot techie at Boeing Corp. He
said they rolled out a prototype unmanned fighter several weeks ago.
According to him, eventually(his number was 15yrs) all fighters will be
unmanned. They can take off fly to a specified area, engage any targets, and
return to the landing pad with minimal human interaction. Not so much direct
remote control as smart computers and human directions.

Big Q
