You're right there. Fencing between skilled combatants usually runs for
about 5 secs max with a flurry of parries and attacks.
Ofcourse, in fencing, all it takes is a solid penetration.
In escrima II - Philipine Stickfighting - the average combat until one is
immobilised lasts max 10 secs when the parties get down to business.
It ain't flashy - but who care in our business, except Hollywood?
Never stopped being amazed that Actors fighting could afford to dance so
much. Takes hell of energy, not to speak of the vulnerablilty involved.
