Grounding - a quick study in alternatting views
The "Official" Dowd camp
Any active focus or projecting/perceiving mage can be grounded through.
Furthermore, any spell w/ a physical effect- sustained or quickened et al,
may be grounded through
This is basically the "screw the magician alternative"
The "We like it our way Frag-it!!" opposing camp
Only things which are Astrally active AND reside primarily on the physical plane
may be grounded through - ie Active foci, perceiving (maybe projecting) mages,
dual nature beings.
Sustained spell - its a spell - the mage influences the astral plane but he is
never actually active
Quicken spells - same as sustained - there is no "Tangible" physical item
Anchored - maybe - not sure (please not that the GRIM II never states that they
may be GROUNDED through - they may be attacked there by setting them off - but
never mentions grounding
Watchers - may manifest VISIBLY - not groundable
Spirit - no - there main plane is astral - it just kills them IMHO
also IMHO - if you could ground astral to physical with a spirit
then you should be able to ground form physical to astral :)
(ie - I don't allow munckinism)
On the Mages are too powerful bit.
Mages when they start off are equal or less than Sam's. They do not move as
fast - and if they can move that fast when they begin (ie spell locks)
they may be grounded into with impunity.
Obviously the writer of this document is for no grounding through quickenings
